ALBANY – Sylvia Klus, age 96, Albany, died Thursday evening at Elmcroft of Muncie. Born August 18, 1921 in Metamora, Indiana, she lived in Muncie before moving to Albany where she resided for several years. Sylvia worked in restaurants for years and at one time was a pastry cook at the MCL, Muncie. She retired in 1981 after waitressing at Red Lobster in Muncie. Sylvia was a member of Albany Christian Church and Topps Club and enjoyed cooking. She was a wonderful gardener and received many compliments for her beautiful flowers.
Survivors include a son: Vernon Quinton (wife: Marti), Muncie; two daughters: Juanita Thurman (husband: James, deceased), Albany, and Joyce Wooten (husband: Bob), Zephyrhills, FL; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bob” Klus, her parents: Wallace M. & Flora M. (Heizer) Crain, four brothers, and three sisters.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday September 17, 2017 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service.
Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
