Michael "Jive" Goodman

SELMA – Michael “Jive” Goodman, age 47, Selma, was born Dec. 13, 1970 in Muncie to Betty Louise Goodman and the late Jack ”Boots” Goodman.  He grew up in Selma and attended Wapahani High School.  Jive was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 437, Selma, where he gained many friends.  He enjoyed weekly corn hole tournaments and canoeing with his family.  Most of all his passion was fishing and hunting, playing 31 with his family and following NASCAR, especially number 3.

Jive leaves behind the love of his life, Tracy “Gabby” West, my love for life; his children: Damon Goodman, Muncie, Tristan Goodman, Yorktown, and Landon Goodman, Yorktown; his daughter: Aliyah Clemons (fiancé: Dakota Freeman), Madison, WI; step daughters: Hailey and Faith Piper, Yorktown; grandson: Henry Thomas Freeman, Madison, WI; his honorary daughters: Shaylon Hines, Muncie, and Victoria West, Allen, TX.  In addition, his brothers: Jackie “Fletch” Goodman (wife: Karla), Parker City, Mark “Tweety” Goodman (wife: Stephanie), Selma, and John Goodman (partner: Brian Hamby), Melbourne, FL; nephews: Fletcher, Markus, Michael, and Derek Goodman; a niece in which he spoiled: Ginger Whitehead, Eaton; great nephews: Lane, Liam, Mason, Max, and one due in July: Carson Michael Glen Goodman;  great nieces: Harper and Madison;  several aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him and was loved by him; also, special fishing buddy and partner in crime: Pat Eley, and an endless list of close & special friends he has made in his lifetime.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jack “Boots” Goodman, maternal and paternal grandparents, four uncles, and two aunts. 

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Selma American Legion will be serving a dinner following the service.

Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
