ALBANY – Maxine (Stoner) Clark, age 95, formerly of Albany, died Sunday February 4, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Born Oct. 10, 1922 in Jay County, she grew up in Randolph County and was a 1940 graduate of Green Township High School. She worked for several years at Ball Stores and Jewel Shop, retiring in 2006 after working five years for the Delaware Community School Corp. in the cafeteria. Maxine enjoyed music all her life and was an accomplished piano player. She was a member of Romney United Methodist Church in Romney, IN where she played the piano and was involved with the U.M.W. group, Sewing Circle, and the choir. When living in Albany she belonged to Albany Christian Church where she played the piano and involved herself in the women’s fellowship group.
Survivors include a son: Phil Clark (wife: Terri), Dunkirk; four daughters: Donna K. Galloway (husband: John), New Richmond, Nancy Cain (husband: Terry), Garland, TX, Sara Bullock (husband: Larry), Vevay, IN and Patricia Clark, Garland, TX; a daughter-in-law: Kay Clark, Lake Wales, FL; a sister-in-law: Martha Wolfe, Westfield; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Robert R. Clark, who died in 1992; also deceased is a son: Robert A. Clark, her parents: Clarence & DeEtta (Bailey) Stoner, and two sisters: Mary Lou Walker and Wilma Sell.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Albany Christian Church with burial following at Black Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Albany Christian Church and one hour prior the service on Saturday at the church.
