Linda K. (Riggs) Razmic

November 4, 1945 ~ July 13, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Linda K. (Riggs) Razmic, 71, resident of Albany, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 13 at Methodist Hospital.  Linda was the daughter of Gerald and Juanita Riggs.  She grew up on a dairy farm in Henry County and at one time was the Indiana State Fair Guernsey Queen.

Linda was once a member of the Gaston United Methodist Church where she was the children’s coordinator, taught Sunday school and lead the youth group.  At the Albany United Methodist Church she more recently served on the board of the Albany UMC Preschool.

She graduated from Ball State University with her Masters of Arts in Education.   She taught at Blue River Elementary and spent 35 years in the Del Com School System.  Linda retired from Delta Middle School in 2014 where she was the Reading Specialist and Language Arts teacher.  She was the National Honor Society Sponsor for 21 years and was chosen as a finalist for the Indiana State Teacher of the Year Award in the year 2000.  Linda truly enjoyed teaching and inspiring her students to be the best that they could be as young adults and throughout their lives.

She was an active member of the following organizations: Indiana State Teachers’ Association, National Education Association, National Reading Association, Indiana Middle Level Education Association, and Tri-Kappa.

Linda married John P. Razmic in 1979 and they made their home in Albany, Indiana.  John was truly the love of her life.  They enjoyed traveling overseas, spending time in Florida, attending IU football games, and spending time together with family and friends.

She is survived by four daughters:  Tammy Samuel (Richard) from New Knoxville, OH; Conny Knight from Albany, IN; Cynthia Hayes from Atlanta, GA; and Susan Razmic from Bradenton, FL.   She was most fondly referred to as “MamaTata” by nine grandchildren:  Alex Samuel (Anna), Andrew Samuel, Connor Samuel, Jessi Samuel, Meghan Schuyler (Michael), Kadie Knight, Courtney Knight (Luke Goetz), Danny Crowe, and David Crowe; and also by four great-grandchildren: Brayden, Brooklyn, and Dylan Schuyler and Paisleigh Goetz.  She is also survived by sisters Vicki Jones (Kip) and Marcia Jones (Randy); sister in law Eileen Riggs; son in law, Jerry Knight, Tim Ritchie, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers Lee Riggs and Larry Riggs.

The viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 18th from 4:00-8:00pm and the funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 19th  at 1:00pm.  All services will be held at Meacham Funeral Service in Albany, IN.  A burial at Gardens of Memory will immediately follow.
