John A. Bright

MUNCIE – John A. Bright, age 86, North Ft. Myers, FL, died Wednesday morning at The Woodlands from cancer.  Born in Indianapolis, IN on Dec. 29, 1926, he graduated from Tech High School and afterwards joined the U.S. Navy during WWII.  John lived in Muncie for several years before moving to Florida.  He retired from National Cash Register Corp. in Muncie and was a member of Moose Lodge #33, Muncie.  While in Muncie he attended Yorktown Christian Church.  In Florida he was a member of North Ft. Myers Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

Survivors include 3 daughters: Susan Jo Bunch (husband: Michael), Yorktown, Karen A. Fager (husband: Larry), Albany, and Sharon D. Bright, Grand Rapids, MI; 2 grandchildren: Stacy John McCoy and Shawna Marie (Fager) McIntyre; 4 great-grandchildren: Brandi McCoy, Caly McCoy, Hunter McIntyre, and Camryn McIntyre; also, a niece: Jeannie (Bright) Trent (husband: Alan).

He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Clara Deane Bright, who died in 2000; also deceased are his parents, 4 brothers, and a sister.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, IN.  

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
