ALBANY – Chuck Richey, age 66, Albany, died Sunday January 21, 2018 at Golden Living Center, Muncie, following an extended illness. Born in Portland on August 5, 1951, he grew up in Albany and was a 1969 graduate of Albany High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, having served in South Korea. He was a former member of American Legion Post 167, Albany, and current member of the Albany Christian Church. He enjoyed sports and in earlier years coached little league baseball and basketball. His favorite teams were Notre Dame (football), IU (basketball), Chicago Cubs, and the Indianapolis Colts. Chuck worked in maintenance at Duffy Tool & Stamping, Muncie, for nineteen years until they closed in 2009.
Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Myong Richey, and their son: Travis Richey (wife: Lani), Muncie; a brother: Rick Richey, Albany; a sister: Belva Curts (husband: Bill), Dunkirk, and six grandchildren: Jadon, Eden, Gavrie, Azriel, Arian, and Elias.
His parents, Merrill D. & Charlotte L. (Reynolds) Richey, are deceased.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Black Cemetery with military rites provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
